If you want a top-notch smile, then there are things you need to do regularly to care for your teeth and gums, like keep up on oral hygiene, attend your six-month checkups, and have a healthy and balanced diet. There are also other small things you can do to keep your oral health in tip-top shape. Our dentist, Dr. J. Whitley Wills, and dental team like to call these quick oral hygiene tricks. We’re happy to tell you all about them!

-Keep a toothbrush (travel sized) in your locker, desk drawer, or gym bag so you can brush your teeth throughout the day. If possible, brush after each meal and even after every snack. This can help you eliminate bacteria in your mouth. It can also help you avoid having an embarrassing food-filled smile.

-Chew sugarless gum regularly. This can help you produce saliva, and saliva can wash your mouth frequently, which can help you eliminate bacteria and reduce your chances of having dental issues.

-Drink water often. This would be easier if you kept a water bottle with you as you work, do your chores, and run your errands. Drinking water can wash your mouth, help you avoid bad breath, and keep you hydrated.
